Nell’era digitale, fra smartphone, laptop e cloud, sempre più sposi tendono a lasciarsi alle spalle il classico album fotografico, optando per supporti più “smart”, come DVD o chiavette USB o addirittura cloud in rete.
Ma se da una parte questi dispositivi offrono vantaggi come la maggior praticità e il minor costo, dall’altra non offrono alcuna garanzia di durevolezza nel tempo, sia perché la tecnologia moderna tende a diventare obsoleta in pochi anni sia perché non c’è l’assoluta certezza che fra venti, venticinque anni questi dispositivi abbiano conservato i dati custoditi al loro interno.
L’album di matrimonio rappresenta il ricordo tangibile, indelebile e soprattutto duraturo nel tempo di un evento importante per la storia di una coppia e racchiude al suo interno non semplici foto,ma emozioni profonde da rivivere e tramandare. Chi non ricorda le foto sbiadite in bianco e nero del matrimonio dei nonni, conservate con cura in eleganti scatole o i più moderni album di nozze dei genitori ?

Photographic albums in the digital era: more important than ever.
In this digital era among smartphones, laptops and remote clouds, a crescent number of newlyweds tends to abandon the classic wedding book, choosing smarter supports like DVDs, USB keys or remote clouds. But if on one side these devices offer bigger practicality and minor cost, on the other they give no guarantee of a long time preservation. First because modern technologies tend to become obsolete after a few years, second because there’s no certainty that these devices would preserve their data after twenty or twenty five years.
The wedding book represents a tactile, ineradicable and durable memory that is important for a couple and its story, containing not only mere pictures, but intense emotions that can be relived and handed down to new generations. Who among you doesn’t remember black and white pictures of their grandparents wedding being preserved with care inside elegant boxes, or their parents more modern wedding book?
